Isn't it ironic that a "cold blooded conservative" like myself had his first experience in the political world in 1980 (at the age of 6) when I told my mother to vote for Ronald Reagan (after seeing some of his commercials while watching television) ? I'm sure my Mom, who was just about as liberal as they come and hoped I'd grow up to be the next Robert Kennedy, must've been crushed that her oldest child told her to vote for Ronald Reagan for President.

Then in 1984 (although I wasn't paying much attention at the time being only 9 years old), despite the tons of ads from the Democrats about shit like "space-weapons" and how he was going to lead us into World War III, Reagan was re-elected 49 states to 1 (the largest margin of victory in history).
